From the road, in what is otherwise ordinary suburbia.

I had seen head on pictures before this, but never any that showed how far back the Tiki Tiki goes. The small bar is near the back.

A close examination of the Tiki Tiki's primary Tiki- well maintained, recently painted, well loved!

These next pictures are a series that we're turning into a stitched together wide angle pan across the main dining room, this is the far left picture in the series.

While these are perfectly ordinary paper lampshades, (some with a cherry blossom motif) I love the way they have used the colored light bulbs in them to make them reminicent of glass floats in other Tiki establishments, the dim lighting with the colored balls works.

And the large mirror makes it appear as if the room is huge, with many, many 'floats'.

This reminds me just a bit of the 'Blue Moon' I've created in the LotSP with the same kind of shade, I also use a saucer shaped rice paper shade with a red bulb in the Lounge. This is a good look at one of the older chairs they've incorporated in nicely.

This screen is used to dim the glare from ourside by making the path in more indirect. Not only is it excellent Feng Shui, it also in time honored Tiki tradition keeps the interior nice and dim, even in the afternoon!

This is the full stiched together "Wide angle" composite of the dining room looking side to side across the building, not front to back.

In the background here you can kind of begin to see some of the stone 'paintings' on the wall, lovely.

I think this one came out well, it really captures the feel of the Tiki Tiki, even on a very quiet afternoon.

I wanted to get a quick snapshot in the bar area- the one consistently busy part of the restaurant, but it wasn't really appropriate. Suffice it to say, there's a nice "Polynesian" style lamp back there and a bartender who knows how to make a finely crafted cocktail!

So whole it was still light, we came out to get a few more external pix.

I don't know the carver or manufacturer of their Tiki, but if I had to venture a guess, I'd say possibly Orchids of Hawaii, but roughly mid to late 70's?

Our waiter told us how many years the Tiki Tiki had been open, but I'm afraid between this trip and the time it's taken to get these pictures up, I've lost the number of years.

A final side view, the bar is back towards the small window. Again, covering over the windows like this to create a sense of timelessness in a darkened Tiki cave is a hallmark Tiki Lounges. The external carvings are a beautiful touch!
